I am delighted that I have been chosen to be junior captain at Market Harborough Golf Club for 2018.
I first discovered my love for golf when my Dad and Grandad introduced me to the game when I was the age of seven, which means I have now being playing for 9 years. I had golf lessons at Kilworth Springs from a young age every week for around 3 years, which gave me my confidence and ability to play now at this present time.
I first joined as a member at Market Harborough Golf Club in the year of 2014, thoroughly enjoying my experience over the years.I began playing in junior competitions with my starting handicap of 28 which was very good for me at the time. After hard work and practice my handicap has dropped significantly over the 2017 season to 15 and my goal is to be off single figures in the 2018 season.
I am proud to say that I have won the 2017 junior player of the year, the junior Claxton Cup and the Cob Cup. But I am especially pleased with my performance in the Booth Cup, shooting a nett 53, winning me the cup by 12 shots. I also narrowly missed out on winning the Frith Cup by one shot shooting 42 points which cut my handicap by 4 shots.
Outside of golf, I also enjoy all sport as a whole, representing Welland Park Academy in Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Golf, Football and Table Tennis. I believe Market Harborough Golf club is a welcoming club with a very good sense of community. Here, I have the facilities in order to improve my game and achieve my aspirations and become a better golfer and a better person.
