We are very proud as a golf club that in January, MHGC was announced as the first winner of the
HOME UNIONS NATIONAL AWARD 2020
at the annual GOLF ENVIRONMENT AWARDS ceremony, presented at Harrogate at the BIGGA (British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association) national conference.
The photo shows the award being presented by Iain Lancaster (England Golf) to (second and third from the left) club representatives Jim Jacobs and Bob Roberts (Environment Steering Group), and to Head Greenkeeper Chris Weir.
More information about the Golf Environment Awards, and the official citation for MHGC’s Home Unions National Award 2020 is available on the XXXXXX drop-down tab in this section of the site.
The club adopted its environment policy A GREENER OPERATION in February 2019. Its introduction outlines why, as a club, we have taken this step:
‘At a time when the world is increasingly aware of environment issues, and the risks that human activity poses, we need, as a responsible institution, to do all we can to protect and enhance the environment in which we play the game of golf and live our lives.’
You can read the policy by going to the XXXXX drop-down tab under this section. Also available for members and visitors on those pages are first annual reportto the club’s AGM, and the Action Plan March 2019 – October 2020.
Further information about the project, including the latest news, is on the XXXXXX tab of the drop-down menu. Members interested in knowing how they can help or contribute can also get further information there.
