Flexible Membership

Golf is hard but finding the best type of membership doesn’t have to be.

Is Flexible Membership for me?

The MHGC Flexible Membership Scheme offers a category of membership for golfers who need more flexibility and whose lifestyle means they can’t play enough golf to justify full membership at this time. 

So if you have limited leisure time due to family or work commitments but would like to be a member of a club which maintains the traditions and standards of golf, this could be for you.

There is no joining fee.

For an annual subscription members get 450 playing credits which can be used to purchase 9 or 18 holes of golf throughout the year, including weekend mornings and afternoons. The number of credits each game costs depends on the time and day of the week (See pricing schedule below).

It gives players many of the benefits of being a full member including:

• Access to the clubhouse, professional services and golfing facilities 
• The opportunity to gain and maintain an official WHS handicap
• Access to some friendly competitions

If you decide to upgrade your flexible membership to one of our Full membership packages any remaining points can be used as a credit against the additional cost.

How it works:

Members are assigned the agreed number of points for the membership year, at the time of payment, which can be surrendered for 9 or 18 holes of golf at the rate identified in the price bands. They MUST book a tee time online or at the Professional Shop PRIOR to play where the appropriate number of points will be deducted from their credit bank. Failure to book a round prior to play will be a contravention of the club by-laws and as such could result in membership being cancelled. Additional top ups of 50, 100 and 150 can be purchased at a price to be agreed from time to time.

There are of course, as you would expect, some restrictions compared with Full Membership:

• Flexible Members may not benefit from Reciprocal Golf arrangements with our partner clubs.
• 
  
• flexible Members may not introduce guests at members’ guest rate within these restrictions.
• May not vote at Club or Company meetings
• May not represent the club in representative matches nor inter-club matches.
• May not enter annual knock-out competitions. They may enter, on payment of the appropriate entry fee but not win any club competitions specifically that appear on the Club’s honours boards, or qualifiers for those competitions, and the Daily Mail Fours. Members of the scheme will be allowed to enter and win certain social competitions individually or as a member of a team including Monday Night Social, Captains Drive In, March Stableford, Spring Comp, Christmas Fayre, Winter League, 2’s Final. This is not an exhaustive list and a full list is available on request – please check before entering the competition. Entry is subject to satisfying CONGU handicap requirements.

Flexible membership is £565 plus compulsory affiliation to the Golf Union (£19) and £75 credit on your Gold Membership Card that gives you 15% discount in Bar and Catering and is also used to enter competitions.
