Junior Membership (under 18's)

MHGC offer a very affordable junior membership. Our junior membership allows juniors to play unlimited golf for just £83 per year!

There is no joining fee.

All junior members must attend an introduction with the Professional Team before being eligible to book onto the course without adult supervision.

The introduction enables us to ensure the following is covered:

• Health and Safety
• Rules and Etiquette on and off the course
• Dress Code
• Assessment to ensure junior is *competant 

*"Competant" doesnt neccessrily mean ability- we understand everybody starts somewhere! We need to be sure the junior will be safe on the course abd able to complete a round in good time whilst fully understand the basic rules. This is to protect both themselves and other golfers. Things like raking bunkers, repairing pitchmarks, letting other golfers through and shouting FORE will be covered.

If the club representative feels the junior needs further education/training they will be asked to attend another session or book in to the junior acdemy/private tuition.

Junior Membership also enables:

• Access to the clubhouse, professional services and golfing facilities 
• The opportunity to gain and maintain an official WHS handicap
• Access to some friendly competitions
• Access to weekly junior competitions

Junior Competitions

Junior competitions usually take place around 11am every Saturday morning. Our junior organiser, Jane Burley, runs the competitions for juniors and has a dedicated WhatsApp group for all who wish to take part.

The competitions can also be used to gain a handicap once the junior is ready!

MHGC is also the base of The Shires Junior Golf Tour. The tour is a great platform for all juniors, from beginner to elite level, to compete in around the Midlands. We even have a mini tour division for juniors to gain experience in a competition before gaining a handicap.

Junior Academy

We are proud to offer one of the largest and best junior academies in the Midlands. Our academy takes place every Saturday morning. The programme runs all year and is custom built by our pros to ensure players progress in their ability but also have FUN whilst doing so. They have 6 ability groups and even provifde fun skills cards to highlight strenghts and weaknesses in their game. 

We have 2 PGA Pros who also offer private tuition at a discounted rate for juniors 7 days a week.
